"The DSH Systems dust suppression hopper can achieve major reductions in fugitive dust emissions and also dust explosion hazards. It will be a very useful tool for many bulk handling engineers and technicians." Peter Wypych, Associate Professor, Centre for Bulk Solids and Particulate Technologies, University of Woollongong, Australia
"We've just installed a new DSH spout at our feed phosphate load out. WOW!! The dust control is amazing! We LOVE it!! The spout was developed in New Zealand by an engineer at a fertilizer company. It doesn't seem to matter how far the product falls, no more dust is created and the tube of product that comes out of the spout is narrower, making it easier to load pneumatic trucks. No electricty, no moving parts, $ investment, results....Priceless! Lisa Brickey, Mosaic Crop Nutrition, Savage Minnesota USA
"For 28 years, I haven't seen anything that can control grain dust from that height when hitting the ground. It is a huge improvement from what it was like without them. Safety wise, guys wouldn't go into the plant and we had to do something drastic really quickly. This has turned it around overnight for us. They are doing a fantastic job and we're really enjoying it." Garth Gillam, Milling Manager, Goodman Fielder N.Z. Ltd
"We have one of your chutes operating at Port Adelaide on straight Urea (commissioned in 2005) and I am very impressed with it. Didn"t think anything would do that after thirty years in this business" Robin Douglas, Project Manager, Incitec Pivot Limited Adelaide PDC Australia
"Impact Fertiliser, the preferred supplier of nutrients to Tasmanian agriculture, installed a dust suppression hopper at the Devonport site two years ago. Since then we have installed three more at depots around Tasmania and others in Victoria. All Site Managers are more than pleased with their performance." Breven Howe, Site Manager, Impact Fertiliser, Devonport Tasmania, Australia
Pivot/Incitec Fertiliser in Melbourne was the first installation of DSH Systems equipment in Australia. “The hopper has made a big difference on the super line at Geelong, mainly in the time it takes to load. I estimate that it is four or five minutes faster as we do not have to take the crossbars out of the truck bodies, or if they are left in, the old chute had to be raised and lowered in to each section and now it runs straight through the whole length and does not make any dust. Hopefully every fertilizer company will be using them soon.” Steve Johnson, Transport Operator, Elders WGF Koo Wee Rup, Vic, Australia.
"We are using the Dust Suppression Hopper on our load-out points'; truck and rail and also the dress belt into store, a drop of about 14 metres. The hoppers have been a great success in cutting down the dust problem and make visibility a lot easier and provide a perfect pour when loading. The computor controlled model pours perfectly every time and is great for loading spreaders with small bins. Shannon Barwood, Dispatch Foreman, Ravensdown Fertiliser, Napier, New Zealand.
"The new large dust cone fitted to our despatching plant has worked very well in a fertiliser application. We have noticed significant improvement in dust suppression over the old despatch method off the end of a conveyor. Many thanks." Hayden Mikkelsen, Works Engineer, Ballance Agri-Nutrients, Mt Maunganui, New Zealand.
